Vol. 416 No. 6

Written Answers. - Boyne Valley Visitors Centre Location.

Roger T. Garland

Question:

191 Mr. Garland asked the Minister for Finance if the Office of Public Works has given any consideration to locating the proposed Boyne Valley Visitors Centre in the settlements such as Slane, Drogheda either in the town or on its edge close to the proposed by-pass or Donore; the reason these possible alternative locations have not been addressed in the environmental impact study.

Control of visitors, improved presentation and provision of on-site services such as toilets and car parking are important functions of the development. These requirements could not be met by locating the centre in another area.
