Matt Brennan

Question:

54 Mr. M. Brennan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for the delay in payments of cattle headage grants in County Sligo.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 47 and 54 together.

There has been no delay in the payment of 1991 cattle headage grants in Sligo. At the end of 1991 approximately 78 per cent of applicants had been paid their grants. The present position is that 92 per cent have been paid.

The percentage of processed applications for cattle headage grants which have been received in my Department in Dublin from Sligo is 95 per cent. The outstanding cases for payment, some of which are query cases and some of which are cases which were only recently processed, will be paid as soon as possible.

The outstanding cases for processing in the Sligo office are practically all the subject of queries.
