49 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will have reconsidered at Cabinet level a decision taken that in non-designated counties the county development teams are not being allowed deal with Leader and other development activities in the same way as they are in the designated counties; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I take it the Deputy is referring to the new structure for promoting rural development. The position on that matter was fully explained in a written reply to a question from him on 16 October last year. I see no reason at this time to recommend a different approach to the Government. The position in relation to Leader was set out in written reply to a question from him on 29 January last.
