88 Mr. Ryan asked the Minister for Education if he will provide an additional resource teacher for the post-primary sector in Swords. County Dublin, for September 1992, particularly in view of the number of students who are currently enrolled in the special education class at St. Colmcille's boys national school, Swords, and who will be transferring to the post-primary sector at the end of this school year; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

My Department are currently funding the equivalent of 1.4 whole-time teachers in the Swords area to cater for children with special needs. A request has not been received for further resources in this area but any such application will, of course, receive every consideration.
