Vol. 417 No. 1

Written Answers. - Funding of Childline Service.

John Stafford

Question:

208 Mr. Stafford asked the Minister for Health if he will give details of the grants given to the Childline service and whether any additional moneys will be now made available in light of recent reports and events.

In accordance with the Child Care Act, 1991, the funding of voluntary organisations providing child care services is a matter for the health boards. In 1991, the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, which operate the Childline service, received payments amounting to over £300,000 from the health boards in whose areas they operate.
