A total of 16 groups have been approved for funding under Leader as follows:
Rural Resource Development Ltd., South Boundary, Shannon, County Clare.
Meitheal Forbartha na Gaeltachta, f/ch Roinn na Gaeltachta, Na Forbacha, Gaillimh, Contae na Gaillimhe.
Western Rural Development Co., c/o NCF, Ballina Road, Tubbercurry, County Sligo.

Offaly County Development Team, Courthouse, Tullamore, County Offaly.
CRESP South Kerry Action, Community Office, IDA Industrial Estate, Valentia Road, Cahirciveen, County Kerry.
Tipperary Enterprise, 43 Parnell Street, Clonmel, County Tipperary.
The total grant aid involved is £35 million (£21 million EC and £14 million national) which will be matched by a roughly similar sum to be raised by the groups themselves. As the allocation of funds within their operational areas will be a matter for the groups themselves, it is not possible to give a break-down of grants on a county basis.
The number of jobs to be created under the Leader programme will depend on the nature of the investments to be undertaken by the groups who will commence operating shortly.
Leader is the EC's own initiative on rural development, which runs to the end of 1993. Any similar initiative after that time will depend on an evaluation of the current programme.
