The role and function of the inspectorate of the Department of Education is one of the matters which will be addressed in the forthcoming Green Paper. The report by Dr. Clive Hopes was commissioned as an internal document and its recommendations will be considered in the context of a restructuring of the inspectorate to take account of developments in the education system generally. It is not proposed to publish this report.
