Vol. 417 No. 9

Written Answers. - Hospital Consultant Posts.

Bernard Allen

Question:

231 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health if he will intervene in the situation in the Mid-Western Health Board where the replacement of retiring consultant staff is being unreasonably delayed according to the special meeting of the Tipperary GPs and consultants at Nenagh General Hospital, County Tipperary.

I do not propose to intervene in this matter which, I understand, arises from a difference of opinion between Comhairle na nOspidéal and the local interests on the types and structuring of appointments to be made to two vacant consultant posts.
