Vol. 418 No. 1

Written Answers. - Cork Child Residential Centre.

Bernard Allen

Question:

130 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health if he will sanction a grant in order to allow the construction of a wall by the Southern Health Board at the rear of the child residential centre at Shanakiel, Cork.

The question of the construction of a wall at the rear of the new short term group home for children at Shanakiel, is being discussed at present between technical advisers of my Department and the Southern Health Board, as one of a number of options to improve security at the home. The provision of a capital grant to implement an agreed solution will be considered.
