The Secretary-General of the United Nations requested the Irish Government to provide four military officers for service with the United Nations Protection Force in Yugoslavia (UNPROFOR). No request for non-commissioned personnel was received.
Four Irish officers took up duty as observers with UNPROFOR on 28 March 1992.
