Question:148 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health if he will make every effort to have the records regarding the number of forced admissions to psychiatric hospitals updated.
Written Answers. - Psychiatric Hospital Admission Statistics.
Information in relation to admissions, both voluntary and involuntary, to psychiatric hospitals is collated on behalf of my Department on an annual basis by the Health Research Board. The latest published information from the Health Research Board is in respect of the year 1988.
I am concerned at the delay at the compilation of these statistics and I have taken the matter up with the Health Research Board with a view to having more up-to-date statistics available from the board.
