Jim Higgins

Question:

132 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when he proposes to pay the 1991 suckler cow scheme for milk producers to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

This person's application for grants under the 1991 suckler cow premium scheme for small scale milk producers is being processed at present and payment will be made shortly.

133 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will receive payment of his suckler cow grant and cattle headage grant.

My Department are unable to trace any 1991 suckler cow premium scheme application from the person named.

His 1991 cattle headage scheme grant is being processed for payment at present and will issue shortly.
He has been paid his 1991 special beef premium scheme grant already.

134 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for the delay in the payment of a beef premium grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and when the grant is expected to be paid.

This person's application for grants under the 1991 special beef premium scheme is being processed at present and if found in order payment will issue shortly.

135 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a grant under the special premium scheme will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The person named has been requested to supply documentation in connection with the sale of some animals applied for under the 1991 special beef premium scheme and when he does so the question of the payment of grants to him under that scheme will be considered further.

136 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a 1991 cattle headage grant will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The person named is not the registered herd owner of the herd number quoted and my Department are unable to trace any application under the 1991 cattle and equines headage scheme from the person who is the registered herd owner.

137 Mr. Cotter asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a compensation payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan because part of his herd was removed having been diagnosed as having T.B.

The reactor grants due to the person named will be paid within the next few weeks.

138 Mr. Cotter asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a suckling grant which was applied for in January 1991 has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan.

Under the EC Regulations governing the suckler cow premium scheme for small scale milk producers the person named is deemed to need 17 cows to produce his quota of 11,552 gallons. Since he had only 14 cows in 1990 and 15 cows in 1991 he has been deemed ineligible for grants under both years' schemes.

139 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for the decision to disqualify a person (details supplied) in County Mayo from the beef premium scheme in respect of five animals.

Following a review of this case it has been found possible to pay the premium on the five animals subject to the application passing a computer validation check.
