Vol. 418 No. 6

Written Answers. - DIRT Revenue

Liam Kavanagh

Question:

41 Mr. Kavanagh asked the Minister for Finance if he has any alternative to the abolition of DIRT; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

As I stated in my budget speech on 29 January last, the implications for future revenue from DIRT of the full liberalisation of capital movements due by the end of this year have been under examination. This review has been carried out, and such legislative changes as are deemed necessary will be provided for in this year's Finance Bill.
