Question:

90 Mr. Connor asked the Minister for Finance if he will consider amending the Suck River Drainage (Provision of Funds) Act, 1890 to provide an up-to-date and realistic funding arrangement for the River Suck Joint Drainage Committee to replace the present funding arrangements which are no longer adequate to allow the joint committee to carry out their statutory functions.

The responsibility for the maintenance and funding of the Suck River Joint Drainage Committee rests with Galway and Roscommon County Councils. I have no proposal to introduce amending legislation in relation thereto.
