Question:

105 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Education if his Department have been in touch with the Department of Finance in relation to the clarification of the actual provisions of the colleges of education pension scheme in relation to a query concerning a person (details supplied); if he will confirm that the Department of Finance have clarified the matter and that his Department are now in a position to communicate directly with this person; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

117 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Education if he has clarified the situation with the Minister for Finance in relation to the position of the pension entitlements of a person (details supplied) who was previously employed at Carysfort College of Education; if, following Deputy Quinn's parliamentary question of Tuesday, 19 November 1991 he will outline when this matter will be resolved to the satisfaction of the person concerned; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 105 and 117 together.

The matter referred to by the Deputy is under examination between my Department and the Department of Finance. I will inform the Deputy of the outcome.
