Vol. 418 No. 6

Written Answers. - Monaghan School Transport.

William Cotter

Question:

107 Mr. Cotter asked the Minister for Education if he will have arrangements made for the school bus to collect a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan in view of the fact that (a) this bus travelled this route formerly, (b) collecting this person will only involve adding approximately one mile to the bus route, (c) the short detour for Cormanagh Cross will not interrupt the collection of other pupils and (d) this detour will facilitate two pupils from September 1992; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

My Department have ascertained from Bus Éireann that the following arrangements apply to the pupil in question. The pupil is eligible for free transport and lives 0.3 miles from the existing route of service. This is considered to be a satisfactory service in the context of the overall operation of the school transport scheme.
