Vol. 418 No. 7

Written Answers. - County Waterford School.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

170 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Education if he will review the decision of his Department to refuse the funding to install a lift at St. Joseph's special school, Parnell Street, County Waterford in view of the fact that this is necessary to ensure the safety of severely physically handicapped children attending the school in the event of a fire breaking out; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The matter referred to by the Deputy is currently being reviewed by my Department's professional advisers and a decision will be conveyed to the school authorities as early as possible.
