171 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Education if he will grant a substantial increase in the financial allocation to Waterford Teachers Centre in view of the increased rent and running costs, the increased range of services available from the centre and the potential for further expansion of the centre; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The allocation of funds to teachers centres for 1992 is being considered by my Department at present. In deciding on the distribution of funds to the centres account is being taken of the needs of centres to allow for further development. On this basis it is intended to provide an increase in funding to the Waterford Teachers Centre. They will be notified shortly of their new allocation.
