209 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Health if he proposes to honour the undertaking given in the Programme for Economic and Social Progress to implement a major programme of health centre development; if he will outline the amount he considers to be necessary to implement this programme; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Following the publication of the Programme for Economic and Social Progress each health board was requested to provide a priority list of health centre developments for its area. The submissions made by the boards are now being assessed and decisions on the phasing of a programme of development will be made having regard to the availability of funds in 1993 and subsequent years.
