Question:

340 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will outline the total numbers in general service grades who have left his Department through, (a) retirement, (b) resignation, (c) death in service, (d) career break and (e) for any other reason for each of the years 1985 to date; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The information requested by the Deputy in respect of the general service grades in my Department is set out below. The departmental grades which formed my Department's inspectorate and which are at present being gradually recertified as general service civil servants are included in the numbers furnished.
