Vol. 418 No. 7

Written Answers. - Quota Splitting.

Séamus Pattison

Question:

45 Mr. Pattison asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will consider applying the principle of quota splitting which currently applies to sheep flocks to farm enterprises such as dairying; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Any arrangements which are presently in place in relation to sheep flocks are not part of a quota system as no such system applies to the sheep sector. Any proposal by the holder of a milk quota to transfer all or part of the milk quota to another party will be considered under the terms of the regulations which govern the milk quota regime.
