Vol. 418 No. 7

Written Answers. - Registration of Companies Data.

Dick Spring

Question:

101 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will provide a list of every company incorporated in Ireland, along with a list of its owners.

The production of a list as requested by the Deputy from the information available in the Companies Office would entail the employment of a substantial amount of time and resources which could not be justified, particularly when regard is had to the opportunity cost for the Companies Office. There are over 127,500 companies on the register (as at 10 April 1992).

Files for each company registered with the Companies Office are available for public inspection.
