Due to budgetary constraints, I do not propose to publish and distribute the kinds of material referred to by the Deputy.
However, as part of my Department's ongoing energy conservation programme, attention is being given to the sectors referred to. Pilot studies on the improvement of energy efficiency have taken place in a number of public sector buildings. With regard to schools, Eolas are carrying out a pilot programme on an energy resource pack for schools. On behalf of my Department, Eolas also held a seminar last year on energy efficiency in hospitals. Moreover, a demonstration project undertaken by my Department, involving the installation of energy management systems in two hospitals, is nearing completion.
