Vol. 419 No. 1

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Pádraic McCormack

Question:

147 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for the Environment when he will sanction the Galway/Oranmore main sewerage scheme for which contract documents were forwarded to his Department on 13 November, 1991 from Galway County Council and Corporation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Contract documents for the scheme are under consideration in my Department at present. However, a certificate is awaited from Galway County Council confirming that the necessary preliminary arrangements for the planning of the scheme have been finalised. When this certificate is received, the proposals will be considered further. I cannot say at this stage when a decision may be made.
