Question:

155 Mr. Ryan asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received tenders from Dublin County Council for the upgrading of the Swords sewerage treatment plant; and if, in view of the previous commitments given by his Department on this matter, he will sanction the tender, with a view to enabling this much needed improvement work commence as a matter of urgency.

Tender recommendations for both the mechanical and civil works contracts have been received in my Department and are under examination. Having regard to the existing level of commitments under the water and sewerage programme, I am not in a position to say when a decision may be made on these proposals.
