Written Answers. - School Extensions.
Following receipt of Local Authority Planning Permission for the Dulargy National School, County Louth project, the preparation of tender documents is in hands. These documents will be completed at the earliest possible date when the question of the invitation of tenders will be considered in the context of the available capital and ongoing commitments.

Question:139 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Education if his attention has been drawn to the fact that (1) Cartown national school, Termonfeckin, County Louth, are 12 years on the waiting list of his Department for sanction for a school extension, (2) the population in the parish has substantially increased and (3) some children in the area will have to be refused entry to the school next year; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that his Department have not as yet given sanction to produce the plan required by Louth County Council so the school council can move the project forward; when such permission will be granted by him; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
I propose taking Question Nos. 133 and 139 together.
I am aware of the situation in relation to Cartown National School, Termonfeckin, Co. Louth. The preparation of sketch plans for the proposed extension is well advanced and these will be completed at an early date, when they will be sent to the school authorities to enable them to apply for planning permission.

Question:134 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the proposed extension to Stabannon national school, County Louth; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Outline planning permission for the proposed extension to Stabannon National School, County Louth was received in March 1992. When full planning permission has been given, the preparation of tender documents for the project will be put in hands. These will be completed at the earliest possible date when the question of invitation to tenders will be considered in the context of the available capital and ongoing commitments.

Question:135 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Education if he will approve a classroom extension and adjoining toilets for a school (details supplied) in County Mayo.
My Department received an application from the Chairperson of the Board of Management of the school in County Mayo referred to by the Deputy for grant aid for a scheme of improvements including a classroom extension. This application is currently being considered by my Department and a decision will be conveyed to the Board of Management at the earliest possible date.

Question:136 Mr. Cotter asked the Minister for Education if his Department have sanctioned an additional teacher for Edenmore national school, Emyvale, County Monaghan for the school year 1992-93.
An extra teacher will be sanctioned for Edenmore National School for the 1992/93 school year provided the enrolment of 132 pupils on 30/9/91 is valid.
