110 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Education if he will outline the subjects offered as part of the vocational leaving certificate programme; and the position of the following in the programme (1) home economics, (2) art, craft and design and (3) agricultural economics.
The Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme offers a Leaving Certificate course in at least five subjects including Irish, 2 subjects from Construction, Engineering and Technical Drawing; a modern continental language; and at least one other subject from the approved list.
It is open to trainees to choose Home Economics, Art (including Crafts) or Agricultural Economics as optional subjects from the approved Leaving Certificate list for the programme.
