Question:

60 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for the Environment if he will introduce regulations whereby local authorities will be empowered to add on an advertisement charge to planning applications so that the local authorities can advertise all planning applications in the local media on a weekly basis.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 59 and 60 together.

The requirements as to public notice of planning applications are being examined in a general review of Planning Regulations which is in progress in my Department and the matters raised by the Deputy will be considered in that context.
