Question:

135 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for the Environment the reason that Mayo County Council has still not received any finance from his Department for the special reconstruction loan scheme; and if it is proposed to make any allocation for the scheme in 1992.

An allocation of £900,000 in respect of house purchase and improvement loans and disabled persons and essential repairs grants was made by Mayo County Council on 27 March 1992. Loan finance up to this amount is available to the Council from the Housing Finance Agency.
