100 Mr. Leyden asked the Minister for Energy the reason for the delay in payment of a forestry headage grant to a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon.

There is no record in my Department of an application for a forest premium from the person concerned.

101 Mr. Leyden asked the Minister for Energy the reason for the delay in payment of a forestry headage grant to a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon.

Under the terms of the forest premium scheme an initial premium is payable in the year following afforestation. The person concerned completed afforestation work in February 1991. Following receipt of additional required information from the beneficiary this June the application has been processed and payment will be made within a week.

In March 1992 an application for a forest premium was received in my Department from the person concerned. Following receipt of additional information from the beneficiary within the last two weeks the application was approved and payment of an initial premium will be made within a week.
