168 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health if he will make a statement on his Department's decision that they will provide the necessary funding to ensure the survival of the Irish Medical Journal; and if he will outline the projected cost of this funding over the next number of years.

Consideration is being given to the provision of financial assistance to the Irish Medical Journal in order to preserve an outlet for the publication of medical research findings relating to this country. No decision has yet been made on the amount or the manner of such financial assistance.
