Vol. 421 No. 8

Written Answers. - Ministerial Staff.

Jim Mitchell

Question:

249 Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for Labour if he will give details of the total number of staff, either full-time or part-time, working (a) in his private ministerial office, (b) in his constituency office and (c) elsewhere in his Department but working personally for him; if he will outline (1) the number, if any, working for him under consultancy agreements or contracts and (2) the salary level or fees payable in each case; and if he will list the names of the people in each case.

A total of eight staff work in my private office on a full-time basis. There are also eight people working in my constituency office, two of whom are employed on a job-sharing basis. None of my staff is employed under a consultancy agreement.

One member of staff in my constituency office is employed under contract as my personal secretary. This person is subject to the same salary scale as secretarial assistants to Members of the Houses of the Oireachtas.
