Vol. 421 No. 9

Written Answers. - County Cork Schools.

Michael Creed

Question:

67 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Education if he will approve the building of a new school in Coomakee, Farnanes, County Cork in 1992.

I assume that the Deputy is referring to the proposed new national school at Cloughdubh, Crookstown, County Cork. Approval to proceed with this project has already been given and tender documents are currently being prepared.

Question:

68 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Education if an application has been received from a school (details supplied) in County Cork for the provision of an extension; if he will outline the current position regarding this application; and if moneys will be provided soon for the commencement of these proposed works.

This school has been informed that grant aid will be allowed for additional classrooms. Currently the architectural details are under examination and my Department will be in touch with the school authorities as soon as this examination has been completed.
