Question:93 Mr. G. O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Health when he will sanction pension increases for pensioners in the Southern Health Board area; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Sanction to apply relevant increases to salaries under the terms of the Programme for Economic and Social Progress, 27th pay round second phase as amended, issued from my Department on 31 March 1992. Health agencies are authorised to increase pensions in line with approved pay increases. I understand that the Southern Health Board is currently implementing the relevant increases.
