94 Mr. Collins asked the Minister for Health if he will make a statement on whether his Department are to provide funds for surgery in the Mater Private Hospital in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Limerick about whom Deputy Gerard Collins has been in touch with his Department on a number of occasions.

I understand that this child's parents were informed that this treatment was available through the public hospital service. In such circumstances, I am not prepared to cover the medical expenses involved.
