Vol. 422 No. 1

Written Answers. - Moy Salmon Fisheries.

Seán Calleary

Question:

52 Mr. Calleary asked the Minister for the Marine if he will give a breakdown of the profit made on the salmon fisheries owned by the State on the River Moy for the year ended 31 December 1991; and if he will give details of the profit which came from (a) the ridge pool and (b) the commercial fishery.

In reply to the Deputy I would refer him to my reply to Question No. 74 on 26 May 1992.

This reply among other things gave information on:

(a) net income in 1991 from the fishery,

(b) gross income from the commercial operation on the State owned stretch of the River Moy.

The gross income from the sale of permits to fish the Ridge Pool in 1991 was £27,664.

It is not possible to give a more detailed breakdown of profit as between rod and commercial fisheries.
