Allocation of Time: Motion.

I move:

That, notwithstanding anything contained in Standing Orders, in the case of the debate on the motion relating to the Interim Report of the Joint Committee on Employment which shall be taken on Friday, 9th October, 1992, the following arrangements shall apply:—

(1)Members shall be called on to contribute to the debate in accordance with the following Table and the speech of each Member shall not exceed the time specified;

(2) a Minister or a Chairman of a Sub-Committee of the Joint Committee on Employment may nominate another Member to speak in his stead;

(3)in the 15 minutes following the speeches of the spokespersons from the Democratic Left Party on Finance, Industry and Commerce, Labour and Education, Opposition spokespersons may request the relevant Minister (or his substitute, as the case may be) to clarify specific issues;

(4)Members may speak more than once in the course of the debate on the motion;

(5)the proceedings thereon shall be brought to a conclusion not later than 4 p.m.; and

(6)if a division is demanded thereon, the division shall be deferred until 6.45 p.m. on Wednesday next.
