Vol. 423 No. 4

Written Answers. - Garda Station Staffing.

Frank Fahey

Question:

106 Mr. F. Fahey asked the Minister for Justice if he will reconsider the reduction in the strength of the Garda presence in Oranmore, County Galway and restore the staffing of the Garda station in Oranmore to its previous level as the low crime rate in this parish was due to the fact that the local gardaí both live, and are involved, in the community.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that they are satisfied that the strength at Oranmore Garda Station meets the policing needs of the area but they will continue to keep the position under review.
