Question:83 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health if he proposes to introduce a narcotic number for general practitioners in order to clamp down on irresponsible prescribing of controlled drugs.

As part of the implementation of the Government strategy to prevent drug misuse, consideration is currently being given to the introduction of measures which would better identify potential problems regarding the prescribing of controlled drugs.
