Vol. 424 No. 2

Written Answers. - Fermoy (Cork) Water Supply Scheme.

Joe Sherlock

Question:

157 Mr. Sherlock asked the Minister for the Environment if he has approved plans by Fermoy UDC, County Cork for a water augmentation scheme for the town; if finance will be made available so as to allow the scheme to go to tender; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Fermoy UDC has sought approval to carry out investigative works in connection with the preparation of contract documents for Stage 3 of the Fermoy water supply scheme. Having regard to the existing level of commitments under the water and sanitary services programme, I am not in a position to indicate when a decision on the proposal may be made.
