I propose to take Questions Nos. 161 and 168 to 171, inclusive, together.

I am aware of the housing needs in these areas as ascertained in the latest assessment carried out by the housing authorities at 31 March, 1991 under section 9 of the Housing Act, 1988. The capital available for the local authority housing construction programme in 1992 has been fully allocated and there are no funds available to supplement the allocations to individual authorities. Capital allocations for 1993 will be made in due course when the provisions to be made in the 1993 Public Capital Programme have been determined.

The traditional means of meeting social housing needs through the provision of local authority housing has been supplemented by a comprehensive range of means under "A Plan for Social Housing" and the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1992.
