Vol. 424 No. 5

Written Answers. - Funding for Dublin School.

Ruairí Quinn

Question:

97 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Education if his attention has been drawn to the repeated representations which have been made by a school (details supplied) in Dublin 6 for sanction for funding to construct a new school in view of the totally inadequate facilities which currently exist; the action, if any, he proposes to take in order to ensure that the parents of Irish children who wish to have them educated in multi-denominational schools are not denied their constitutional rights; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

My Department are currently examining the question of how best to cater for the long term accommodation requirements of the school referred to by the Deputy. As soon as this examination is completed a decision will be taken in the matter.
