Question:90 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Health the number of child sexual abuse cases which were reported; and the number of cases which were confirmed in 1971, 1981 and 1991.

The collection of statistics in relation to reports of alleged cases of child sexual abuse did not commence until 1983 so I am not in a position to supply figures for 1971 or 1981. Figures in respect of 1991 are expected to be available shortly and I will arrange to have them forwarded to the Deputy.
