Ceisteanna — Questions. Written Answers. - Cow Suckler Premium Scheme.

Ivan Yates

Question:

102 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if dairy farmers with milk quotas of less than 12,819 gallons are eligible to apply under the cow suckler premium scheme for the late applications allowed before 4 December 1992 or must they have applied at the closing date in June 1992; and if he will ensure that they are allowed such a late application.

Dairy farmers with milk quotas of less than 12,819 gallons who did not apply for the EC Suckler Cow Premium Scheme for Small-scale Milk Producers last June or July may apply for the Scheme in the application period which ends on 4 December 1992. Farmers who applied for the Scheme in June or July will not be allowed to apply again in the second application period as under EC Regulations a farmer may apply for Suckler Cow Premium only once in any year.
