Vol. 425 No. 7

Written Answers. - Departmental Appointments.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

518 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education the number and names of persons other than those in the permanent Civil Service, who have been appointed to positions in her Department or other agencies within the ambit of her Department, including Offices of Ministers of State, since the formation of the Government; if she will give details in each case of their job description and conditions of employment, terms of employment, their rank and salary or allowances; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I have appointed Mr. Patrick Keating as special adviser, Ms. Sinéad Bruton as press officer and Ms. Clíodhna Ferris as personal secretary in my office.

The Minister of State has reappointed Ms. Helen Brady as personal assistant and Ms. Teresa Walsh as personal secretary in his office and has re-appointed Mr. Luke Power and Mr. Michael Slattery as his civilian drivers.

The terms and conditions of service of the foregoing, including salary levels, are currently being finalised in line with standard practice and Government guidelines.
