Vol. 425 No. 7

Written Answers. - Brownestown (Kildare) National School.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

525 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education the progress in relation to the provision of new facilities at Brownestown national school, The Curragh, County Kildare; if all the necessary financial provisions have been made in relation to the implementation of the project in 1993; when the classrooms will be ready for occupation; if the proposed completion date is in line with previously set out objectives; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I am glad to confirm for the Deputy that a contract has recently been placed for a new school at Brownestown. The fire officers certificate is awaited from the county council. While it is not possible, in these circumstances to give a precise completion date, a project of this nature would normally be completed within a year.
