A major building project has been approved for the school in question. Tenders have been received and are presently under examination.

Question:532 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Education if she has authorised her Department's architect to negotiate with the developer the additional cost of fire safety measures required at a school (details supplied) in County Tipperary; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
My Department has requested the design team to proceed immediately with negotiations with the lowest recommended tenderer on the changes needed to comply with the Fire Safety Certificate and to submit their final report on the tenders, incorporating any necessary cost adjustments, as soon as possible.
