Vol. 425 No. 8

Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given to me under Standing Order 20 (3) (a) and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Coughlan — the plight of potato farmers in County Donegal; (2) Deputy Dukes — the need for an environmental impact assessment in relation to the construction of a mast for the Loran C. Navigation System at Loop Head, County Clare; (3) Deputy Lowry — the manner in which the Leader programme has been administered in Tipperary Enterprise Company; (4) Deputy Gregory — the threatened loss of a teacher in Stanhope Street Convent national school, Manor Street in Dublin North inner city which would result in intolerable class sizes in this school, which serves a socially disadvantaged community; (5) Deputy Harney — the urgent need for the commencement of Tallaght Regional Hospital; (6) Deputy Shatter — the issues arising from the official report carried out by the Department of the Marine into the deaths of persons (details supplied) who travelled on board the Celtic Pride ferry; (7) Deputy Deenihan — if the Minister for Health will make the necessary finance available to the Southern Health Board to appoint a third surgeon at Tralee General Hospital as the surgical waiting list now stands at 1,100, which is one of the highest in the country.

I have selected for discussion the matters raised by Deputies Coughlan, Lowry and Gregory.
