91 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment if national lottery funds will be made available to an organisation (details supplied) in County Kildare to facilitate provision of accommodation on their site; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The Deputy will be aware that the scheme of grants concerned was discontinued due to the need to finance other essential public services, such as health, from the national lottery surplus.
There is, therefore, no provision in my Department's Vote at present from which a grant could be made to the organisation concerned. However, should a new scheme of grants be introduced, it will be open to the organisation to apply.
