Vol. 426 No. 3

Written Answers. - County Kildare Housing.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

73 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment if sufficient funds for refurbishment of the local authority houses at Dara Park, Newbridge, County Kildare have been allocated to Kildare County Council; if further allocations will be forthcoming; if he has received requests from Kildare County Council for funds to refurbish houses at St. Patrick's Park, Celbridge, Greenfield, Maynooth and Highfield Park, Kilcock; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Allocations totalling £457,000 have been made to Kildare County Council under the remedial works scheme for the refurbishment of houses at Dara Park, Newbridge. The capital allocations under the scheme for this year will be notified to local authorities as soon as possible.

The council has also sought funding for the refurbishment of houses in the other estates referred to. Their proposals are under examination and a decision on eligibility for funding will be made as soon as possible.
